A New thing | © Fola Daniel Adelesi

Behold, I will do a new thing, Now it shall spring forth; Shall you not know it? I will even make a road in the wilderness And rivers in the desert. ~ Isaiah 43:19 NKJV

Welcome to the month of new things, brethren. It is indeed a great encouragement to hear that the Lord has purposed to do a new thing for us, his children. It is even more encouraging that when God says he will do something, you should have no doubt that the thing is as good as done!

God is telling us that the type of new thing he will do is not the one that you alone will be trying to explain to others. He says ‘Now it shall spring forth; Shall you not know it?’ You see there is a level where things are done but you are not sure of the things that have been done. So you come out and say, ‘we thank God for life. If there is life there is hope.’

No, that’s not what God is talking about here. He said the new thing He will do will spring forth! Wow! That’s great. When God says something will spring forth then he is talking about testimonies that cannot be hidden. It is the kind of testimonies that others will share on your behalf. When God’s new things spring forth in your life, even the Pastor will not have a choice other than to use your testimony as a reference point in his sermons.

This new thing can be ‘pregnancies springing forth.’ You don’t have to announce it because it will announce itself. It can be a car springing forth. You don’t have to tell people you now have a car. They will see you driving it. It can also be a house springing forth. People will just notice that your regular route home has changed then they start wondering until they find out that you are no longer a tenant.

You don’t have to wonder if God will do it. It is signed, sealed and delivered. In fact, in the place of prayers, it is easier to get answers over what God himself said he will do compared to what we are asking him to do. So all through this month, if I were you, I will simply remind him to do a new thing in my business, family and every other issue of great concern.

The part that interests me so much in our text above is ‘I will even make a road in the wilderness And rivers in the desert’ ~ This, to me, means God will do the kind of new things that people will refer to as impossible. When God has done it and you are trying to explain to people, there will be a missing link. There will be a part that will defy explanation. It will have an element of mystery that will defy human wisdom.

You and I know that logically, there can be no road in the wilderness or rivers in the desert. The desert is a dry place. People die there because they thirst. They dehydrate  quickly. And here comes the Almighty God who can turn anything around saying he will produce rivers in every desert of your life!

You know what? Just go and get ready for celebrations. I am resulting God that the new thing he will do will even shock you. Your own forgotten cases – because you concluded nothing can be done – will be revisited.

Tell your friends, family and neighbours that God’s interest this month is in new things and everyone who wants something new should not hesitate to seek God. Beginning from today, you will experience new things in Jesus mighty name.
