How forcible are right words? | © Fola Daniel Adelesi

A few days ago I was watching television and then I saw Dr. David Oyedepo repeating the words in Job 6:25 which simply says, ‘How forcible are right words, but what doth your arguing reprove?’ At some point it just entered into me such that when I had forgotten completely about the message that I heard, I suddenly woke and the first few words being repeated in my head are, ‘how forcible are right words?’

I guess that should even prompt me to ask questions on what the right words are and what do we really mean when we talk about how forcible they are! In Ephesians 4:29 the bible says, ‘Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers.’ In this instance, we will see the that if the words are to be the right words then they definitely will not be corrupt words! They cannot be words that abuse, degrade, downgrade, destroy the reputation of others or seek their relegation from where they are at the moment! The right words cannot be the words that pull others down! When you sow seeds with your words and all those words can only destroy others then you should be getting ready to reap a harvest of destruction!

In Proverbs 18:21, what we have that also helps us further into understanding the right words is, ‘Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.’ What this means is that your words can help you stay alive a little longer than others can ever imagine and it can get you to the grave quickly. When you understand that the right words are forcible then you have to keep speaking them to stay alive, win the battles in your marriage, get the desired promotion in your career and also succeed in your business endeavours! We also need to work with the understanding that when we do not use the right words, there are wrong words which fly around all the time! When we don’t speak the right words, there’s the tendency that the wrong words that have been spoken by others will also affect our lives. Some people have spoken the wrong words into the environment and that’s why it is the way it is at the moment and you have to change your environment by releasing the right words! Even when you think you cannot change the environment, you will still need to release the right words which are known to be forcible so that the negative words in the air will not affect you also!

One of the amazing things about right words is that God honours the right words and this world was created to function upon the release of words! In the first place God created the world with words and allowed people to create their own worlds with their words! It was in Numbers 14:28 that I got the idea of God honouring the right words from those who speak it. In that verse God responded to his people through Moses saying, ‘As you have said in my ears, so will I do unto you!’ I guess that shows you more how forceful right words are! God says he will do as you have said so it is your choice now to say the right things because that is what God will do and when you also say the wrong things, God will allow it to happen!

Begin to release the right words into your life, marriage, business, career and into the environment! Create your world with your words and remember that right words are forcible so whatever you see in your life is simply a product of the right or wrong words that you speak!
