When the manufacturers of some software companies produce a new software, they usually want the public to have a taste of what they have just produced and they send some copies of these products to the market often at a reduced rate. The product at this point has all the necessary feature but because it is a trial version, the users will not be given all the access they want to have to the features on the software.

The essence of not allowing people have access to every part of the software is to make them understand that the software at the moment is still undergoing public scrutiny and some how the manufacturers are trying to find a market for the products so what they have access to could be a fore taste of the original that would be release after the research is concluded.

In some of the CDs of these softwares they ask you to take a demo of the programme and see what it looks like. Just as soon as you begin to enjoy the whole programme and you want to click something new then a message comes up telling you that this is the trial version. My question now is, “how long are you going to live your life on the trial mode or as a trial version?”

I have come to the shocking reality of the fact that a lot of the people who are living in the society today are actually living the trial version of their lives. They are just in the preparatory stages of their lives and as much as that does not sound bad, it is disheartening to note that they have been in that preparatory stage for so long a time. You cannot afford to run the best part of your life as a trial version. You need to find your bearing as soon as possible and start manifesting to your world because your world is waiting for you.

You are part of the solution that we have been waiting for and the truth is that the world is really tired of waiting endlessly. The reason the world is tired of waiting endlessly is because we know people like you have what it takes to solve the problem of the world. You could be the one to redefine leadership for us. You could be the one to take technology to the new phase of totally creating an office in a home and make all the money you need to make in the home when everything you want is still going to be delivered to your doorstep.

I encourage you to step out with your gifts and dare the challenges ahead of you. Life will definitely not present to you a bed of roses but if your head remains unbowed life will present a winning trophy to you for standing tall and not being bent by circumstances.

You and I have asked almost the same question over and over again, but nobody seems to be giving us the kind of answers we like hear or they didn’t just want to talk us. It’s really bothering us but people here and there keep arguing it.

I remember I once asked quietly, “if there was supposed to be no sex before marriage, why didn’t God wait till we were ready for marriage before he gave us the reproductive organs?” Don’t get me wrong. I’m not blaming God. I’m only being sincere that I was once eager to prove being a ‘man’, and then I had to ask the question I just told you about.

Sometimes you say, “oh! Sex? But I’m not going to marry in the next 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10 years or more! That’s such a long time!” You feel like you are starving and it looks as if something is wrong somewhere. So a number of people cook up lies about impotence to justify being involved in a sexual intercourse.

Nearly every morning the guys wake up and they feel… I don’t know. The guys know, but it’s normal. I’ve been a host of the real struggle because there was always a tussle in my mind where a party says you can do without sex and the other says no. It got really hard that the ‘no’ party won. The tussle didn’t go just like that so I felt I just needed an alternative for sex, so long I was not doing the “main thing”.

That’s why you have a number of guys out there who want to hang around ladies to get over thinking about sex. Unfortunately, the ‘feeling’ gets worse for some. For a while a number of people might forget the issue of sex because they are too shy to discuss it with the opposite sex, but the truth is that when you hang around long enough you will get over the shy nature and you would be back to square one – fighting hard to avoid sex.

Is it true we can do without it when we would see a guy and say, “Whao? He’s got a clean ride and he wears a proper man’s picture – handsome.” You remember how many time you dashed your foot against the stone while you were “just looking…just looking…just looking” at that girl? Worse still, you see somebody getting married and you shout, “I wish it was me.” But the truth is that it’s not you and you are shocked the more when you realize how many years you have to wait before it’s you.

Permit me to give you what you have been fighting against so that it would resonate in your mind. We can do without sex! Sorry if I hurt you. Some have said we must avoid sex before marriage because the bible says so and some said you couldn’t because it’s the emotion that’s pushing out the word from their mouth. Is it easy to just stop or avoid sex because somebody said so? What is the solution?

The simple fact is that you only need to work upon your programmed mentality so you wouldn’t have to think about marriage at age 18 because you want to be free to have sex. Sex or no sex is like a race. There is shame in quitting and there is glory in finishing so think of which one you want. Quitting, you would say, is not that easy, but you were built to control sex. Sex is not to control you. All you have got to do is not to allow temptation collide with opportunity!

The emotion of youth, and human beings generally is like a wandering specie that never stays where it senses insecurity or where the friendliness of the atmosphere does not measure up to it’s expectation.
What insecurity do the youths sense that makes them opt for sex as a way out or where have they sought friendship and the friendship is not given in the required measure? A lot of people have had the opportunity to be involved in a sexual intercourse but why don’t they decline that so called opportunity?

Many at times parents do not want to agree that they are directly or indirectly promoting their children’s involvement in sexual intercourse but this is not supposed to be an avenue to fix any blame. What I’m interested in is to bring out some of the things that we do that we do not know can affect people around us negatively, especially the parents and their children.

I have come to realize that very many young folks who are in a relationship got into the relationship at a time when they were deeply hurt. The problem now is that a girl who is trying to overcome her hurt has just met a guy who is also running away from depression. The guys in this case mostly win these ladies through self-pity. All they do is emphasize what they are running from and the lady, after an appraisal of the guy’s story, begins to present her own hurting heart.

Probably not very many people have realized that they got into a relationship with a lady or a guy they were trying to help out of a situation. Two people with poor emotions have met and the kind of consolation that follows a physical consolation, usually starting with a pat on the back. The two parties may withdraw immediately so that no one thinks the other is taking advantage of him or her.

Nagging parents usually dent this bit of morale or satisfaction that the opposite sex has given when these youths return to their houses. They complain about everything and they never praise anything about their children. These parents who are now perfectionists make their young boys and girls or even the class that is now regarded as young adults to think more about the time spent with the opposite sex. From there they look forward to another meeting and they often want to make the most of the time they are looking forward to. They want to keep body contact for a longer time and you and I know that body contact mobilizes the erogenous zones in our body.

Youths are more sensitive to people who make them happy and they never want to be far from such people. If parents are reading this, I will advise they make their children understand things in a mild tone instead of complaining. Extol the great qualities in your children instead of placing more emphasis on their mistakes.

Every young person is fighting to be accepted so your nagging could be termed as rejection and you unintentionally push him or her into the hands of people experiencing the same thing they are going through – opposite sex. Let every young person also note that another person’s action never justifies your own action so you have to focus on what you do with all interest when you are hurt.

How disheartening it is to note that of every 30 youths you scarcely find 2 who are being futuristic in their dealings and their approach to issues had better be imagined than described. Every one thinks about now and the instantly rewarding or seemingly satisfying actions.

What do you think about a situation where a lady forgets quickly that if she were impregnated by a fellow youth, she would be the one whose education would be terminated? Sex is as funny as being supposedly unfair to one of the parties involved because two parties are involved but the aftermath is only evident in one person.

Unfortunately there may not be enough evidence to hold a guy responsible, until the child is born, if the guy is not ready to own up. By implication you bear the shame and as if that is not enough you, who is still being catered for, would have to start catering for someone else if the family is not really buoyant.

Where this becomes particularly frustrating is where the young mother involved cannot get a noble job to take care of the infant. Three things can be envisaged when this is happening. The young mother, if not too mindful of reputation, can decide to stoop low, undertake any job just to make sure the child survives.

On the other hand, the young mother involved may delude herself by accepting that executive prostitution or the coded “pay as you go” is the only way out. Now she becomes more interested in money and less concerned about safe sex because what seems to matter more is the survival of the child. Money is necessary but it now exposes you to unprotected sex. Consequently, HIV/AIDS sets in and the problem you were trying to ameliorate is exacerbated.

I leave you to judge if this third thing that has been envisaged is worse or better than the aforementioned. She may not be ready to sail the sea before feeding the child especially when she is always finding herself in the assemblage of opportunists. What if she dumps the child in a pit or in a sewage system? Is this not the route of some of the babies that are picked up by scavengers? If the child manages to survive he would also have to start with a vague future because there is no one to turn to. There is the probability of a chain of confusion if the child also ends up in the hands of opportunists or becomes addicted to drugs.

I was racking my brain and something dawned on me. I may be involved in sexual intercourse and later part ways with the other party. Then I assumed that I became the Governor of my state and the same lady I had sexual intercourse with came back seeking a contract that she was not qualified to handle. You can be sure blackmail would follow if such proposals were turned down. That makes your integrity questionable, especially when the product of the ten-minute pleasure (baby) is still living.

You would begin to have problems with the people you were leading and the opposition party could capitalize on your moral failure. It would be rather unfortunate if you have been fond of some female friends, though with no sentiments, because it would be assumed that you have been spending the state government’s money on women since you have now become the Governor and at the same time the Minister for women affairs.

One of those interesting misconceptions that I have also come across is that some guys often say they have to do it so that she does not feel they are impotent. You owe nobody any obligation to prove that you are a man and that you are man enough to man anything that goes in skirts. It’s a little psychological. She wants a bit of your energy but she would not get it easily so she would use the syringe method. What’s the syringe method? She says something that is not true about you, especially as far as being “manly” is concerned and she wants you to prove her wrong not by words but by actions. She would tell you she believes what she feels!

Let anyone go to anywhere and say what he likes. If you do it once you would want another taste and when HIV/AIDS sets in would you still be proving you are not impotent? AIDS may not render you impotent but the fear of death can render you impotent so you end up becoming what you want to prove you are not. If only we think tomorrow and consider the relevance of our great dreams to the society, both in the local and international setting, you would always say to yourself that ABSTINENCE IS NOT IMPOTENCE.

I have met people who have ideas and they want to handle the ideas with intelligence. Ideas are not things that just come to you because you are a superstar think tank in your field so you don’t just jump off to work when you get ideas. When you get ideas for things to do in your work place, school, church, community, clubs, organizations or in your personal life, it is important you seek direction on how things should be done. Let me quickly say that seeking direction on how things should be done does not imply that you must always do things the way everybody has been doing it. I personally will not do things the way everybody wants to do it.

It is only important to seek direction so that you do not waste precious time working effortlessly on the things you should do in a jiffy if you have direction. Direction will guide you into making more reliable and independent choices when you need to make a choice not based on what people just told you but on the fact that you now know what to do.

Those who launch out without seeking direction often end up in troubles. You go persistently in the wrong direction sometimes hoping that things will one day work out. Your tenacity of purpose in the wrong direction is irrelevant so you have to come back to the right place with that tenacity. Your passion and persistence in the wrong place do not make you a better person. They will only make you more miserable and you may not realize that you are wasting your time and gradually wasting your life. When you do things based on the direction you have sought then it often helps to speed up time for you.

The person who runs with only an idea without a direction will spend more concentrated time burning energy that should be reserved but the person who runs with an idea based on direction will move faster than expected and will make lesser mistakes than the one who has no direction.

As much as it is important to have a direction, where you seek your direction is equally important because it is a disaster to seek direction from a confused person who claims to know where o go. There are confused people all over the world who are trying to give other people direction. “Can the blind lead the blind,” was the profound question of the master, our Lord, in the book of life.

Seek direction from the people who know where they are going and can lead other people to where they are going.

Seek direction from the people who have been to where you are going and have not missed the way or stayed too long in the wrong path since they started traveling through the routes of life.

A honest person once said that the reason he stands tall is because he climbed on the shoulders of those who have gone ahead. Seeking direction is like climbing the shoulders of those have gone ahead of you because you may sometimes get much more than what you are bargaining for. you may want something that will help you just for the moment but you may eventually get something that will help you for the rest of your life. It is very important to tell you about buying the truth and not selling it because the truth is scarce.

Where you are positioned determines who sees you and that also determines who you see. If you choose to stay on the ground floor of a house you are likely to see only those directly in front of you and when you turn you may see a few people behind or beside you. By the time you climb to the first floor of the house your new view gives you the opportunity to see more than what you were seeing. You are likely to see all the people you were seeing on the ground floor and at the same time would be seeing new people who are on the same floor with you. When you look to the right you are likely to see people in another building if a building is close to you. If there is no close building you will still see father than you used to see because you are now looking from an elevated point of view.

When what you desire in your life does not in any way correlate with the result that you have then you need to climb. When you climb to a new phase just like I explained, you will see new things. Your perspective will change and when your perspective changes you will have the privilege of meeting people who operate on the new level of frequency in perspective.

Those who remain at the base are often seen by those at the base with them. If you want to be seen by the right people then you need to climb to where the right people are. There was the interesting story of a young rich but short man in a town where a respectable young prophet was visiting. The young rich but short man wanted the prophet in his house at all cost but he knew there were too many people around the prophet and that his height would be a disadvantage so he climbed a tree. With the climbing, it was easy for the prophet to see him when he was passing by. He achieved his aim by climbing to a level where he not only sees the people he wants but where the people he wants can also see him.

If you are in business you will need to climb a new level in advertising, publicity and branding. If you are a pastor you will have to climb a new level in the way you run church without compromising standards. Make people look forward to the next church service not because church has become an entertainment centre but because you have succeeded in creating a thirst in the hearts of the people. If you are a teacher you will need to change your approach to teaching so that the people remember what you teach and remember you for what you taught. Many teachers in the world don’t make so much impact because the best they do is to teach the subject they want to teach. When the students graduate they forget the subject you taught them but they remember your name. Success in the teaching business is for the people to remember your teachings and then you.

More importantly, you need to climb a new level in the way you relate with people because people will be your most important assets. When you do not have anything you will be able to move on in life if you have the right people around you. Some of us need to change the people we relate with if we ever want to succeed because you don’t just succeed with just anybody. You will only succeed with forward looking people who have definite goals for their lives and are willing to help others make something out of their lives.

I have always said to myself that I will not always watch people on TV without being watched on TV as well. I knew it was expensive to get on TV but as far as I was concerned the price was irrelevant. What was relevant to me was what I have to offer when I get on TV.

It all began with an idea of being on TV and teaching business, motivation and leadership to people such that without having been to a business school, whoever listens to my series on TV will do business even better than those who have been to a business school.

One day I was watching TV and I heard a voice saying that I should go and talk to that presenter. Most times when I hear a voice asking me to go and talk to someone, I may not really prepare what to say until I get to the place where and I am supposed to meet that person. When I got to the TV station where this presenter was working, I asked to see her but someone in the reception asked why I wanted to see her. I explained to him and the next thing he said was that I would have to pay.

I wanted the lady to give me an interview on my new book so that it would be an avenue for me to introduce the book to the society. When I met the lady I made an offer to give out some copies of the book but she said she would have to think about it. I called her about three or four days later and she said she was still thinking about it. later in the night on the same day the lady told me she was still thinking about it, she called me back to say, “you know I was just thinking your book might be an interesting thing to talk about. I want you to come to the studio tomorrow at 9:30 am because the programme will commence at 10:00 am.

When I got there I found out that there was supposed to be another guest for the programme in the second half of the hour.

By the time the programme had almost gone half way, the other guest had still not arrived. The presenter called to know what was happening. The other guest was stuck in traffic so the interview which was being conducted with me had to continue for the next half of the programme. Immediately after the programme I noticed that the lady was so impressed with the interview then she leaned forward in her chair to say, “for next year we are trying to restructure our programme and we want a motivational speaker who would talk for 10 minutes twice a week.” The interview was done in December 2008 and her offer was to commence in 2009. Since January of 2009, I have always been on TV and I did not pay a penny! When I was walking out of the studio after the presenter’s offer, I saw the guy who told me that I was going to pay. He was the one who called me to say that my presentation was great and since then he has been watching me teach business, motivation and leadership on TV.

It begins with you and not what you do not have. If you really mean business then I can say confidently that you only need to start with an idea and not the money that will project the idea. In the same TV station that somebody told me I would pay them, another person offered me ten minutes twice a week for the whole year! Do you know how much advertisers pay for a sixty second advert on TV? There are sixty second adverts that are worth more than half a million. There are some that are worth a hundred or two hundred thousand. If we peg the worth of this one at a hundred thousand and I have ten minutes twice a week then it means the worth of that offer is a hundred thousand times 20. That means the offer was worth two million every week. Multiply the two million every week by 52 weeks in a year! That brings us to 104 million. That’s how I value the offer that I got for free.

Everything in life begins with an idea so it is important that you have an idea of what to do in life and what to do with yourself. You need to have an idea of what to do for the people around you and an idea for the things you can contribute to their development. You need an idea about how to live your life differently from other people around you. Among all other things, it is important for you to have an idea of where you are going in life because having an idea of where you are going determines how you go about the issues of life. You need a business idea that will put food on your table and you need an idea that will improve your living standard. Life is entirely lived on ideas. You must have an idea of what you spouse should look like and an idea of how your unborn children will be raised and in what environment they will be raised.

Above all, for the purpose of this article, we are talking about an idea that you come up with for the development of other people. It is important we talk about an idea that you are bringing up to help other people because if you don’t you may run into troubles trying to run some ideas just to be able to suit your personal desires. When you try to run ideas to suit your personal desires you are going to clash with people since you will need people to attain your desired heights. When people begin to see that you are self centered they will have problems with you and will pull out of what you are doing. Problems begin to manifest at that point when people are pulling out as a result of the fact that they don’t want to work for nothing. I used to word manifest because you should ordinarily know that an idea should not be centered on you at what ever time an in whatever situation.

A whole lot of people find it difficult to come up with ideas and they look at people who come up ideas as people coming from another planet. There is nothing strange about coming up wit an idea. You only need to know how to generate the ideas. For some people it is so easy to generate ideas not because they are super stars but because they identified their passions and began to build ideas around the passion.

What do I mean by building idea around the passion? This simply means they are creating potential platforms through which their passions can find expressions. It is easy for me to come up with fantastic ideas on human capacity building because I like to help in people development. Any time you see me talking about an idea you can be so sure that ninety percent of the idea would dance around human capacity building. I can come up with several ideas what it all boils down to helping people grow. Somebody else may always come up with nice ideas about creating events that people will enjoy. The person may keep talking about sight seeing and other things around pleasure for the human soul and refreshing of the human mind. You will know so well that the person in this case is simply an event manager.

You have been told severally and you may be reading this for the first time that you need to identify your passion. If somebody comes up with the idea of how to create jobs for 10, 000 people I must tell you it is because that kind of person does not like seeing unemployed people. If someone comes up with the idea of how to feed people then it is because the person has passion for people’s welfare. If the person does not have the passion for people’s welfare then the person cannot be thinking about feeding people so the most important issue here is that you most likely would come out with an amazing idea if you follow the direction of your passion.

I heard the story of two young Americans who went to another country on vacation. As they were trying to settle down in the hotel room, one of them walked to the window to admire the environment. Just as he was looking he saw so many people without a shoe so he called his friend to come and see so many people who did not have shoes on their feet. When the other friend came he said, “Wow! What a shoe business!” He went back to his country and negotiated with a big shoe manufacturing company. They asked if he was sure he had a market for the shoe and he said affirmatively that he had a market for the shoe. When he eventually started his company, he invited the other friend who first saw so many people without shoes to be his accountant.

If he had seen the right thing, he would have been the founder and CEO of the organization. They both had eyes to see but they had different minds interpreting different things to their minds. They probably were on the same financial level but they were not on the same idea level.

When your ideas are not crystal clear it may look like you are speaking Latin to someone who only understands English even when this person is the main person who will help you out with the ideas that you have. it is important to master the art communicating which is referred to as articulating. The manner of articulation for your thoughts and ideas will go a long way in determining the acceptance of those thoughts and ideas and ultimately the success of those ideas. When you think all you need to get on in life is an idea then you will be shocked rudely by the brick walls you will meet with if you don’t quickly learn how to articulate your intentions.

You may want to ask me what I mean by articulation so I simply want to say that as far as ideas are concerned, it could be referred to as the ability to pass across the thoughts on your minds to other people’s minds with your desired response finding expression on their faces or their mouths.

Make sure other people understand what you are talking about especially when they are going to be on team that will execute the projects that you desire to execute. It has been observed that one of the reasons organizations fail is the inability of the leaders to articulate their visions so the people in the team are either caught up in the middle of muddled up visions from the organization or are just running with their own visions. If you don’t it a mandatory things for you to do then I think you have already accepted that your success in any endeavour it not a mandatory thing.

Some people will not come to you so say that you have not clearly expressed your thoughts but when you keep an eye on them then you will glaringly note some of the proofs that the vision was not properly articulated.

Some of the proofs that your vision has not been properly communicated include consistent personal interpretation of what you are talking about by the people listening or working with you. When a vision is clearly communicated the people who listen to you do not have to always put in their interpretation. It could have been that a word confused them about the right interpretation they already have about your vision.

At some other time the proof that your vision was not well articulated could be the speed at which the people are working with you. When you expect them to have finished something long before the time you need it, they will tell you they have not finished because they did not understand something in what you told them to do. You may also need to drag them to come along in the things that you are doing. When a vision is well articulated and the people buy into the vision you will not need to drag people along in the things that you are doing.

On this note it is important to note that when you have to communicate a dream or an idea you have to be careful about your choice of words. There is no point trying to impress the people who are working with you on the team with big words. If the vision is not an impressive vision then I can say convincingly that the words will only confuse the people more than you can imagine. If anybody needs to be impressed at all it should not be your team.

The only way to impress your team is to motivate them. When the motivation of your team is high then it might be easier to communicate with them. Don’t struggle to impress people who are not motivated because you will only look like a comedian who is understood by no one but himself so he laughs all alone. If the people don’t say he is mad the truth is that they think he is.

Now that I have started out on the issue of motivation then I need to say that the only thing that articulates the vision to some people sometimes is the motivation that is in it for them.

There were times I desperately wanted something new probably because the ones I had were frustrating me but the interesting thing was that for some time the new things expected would not come so I had to learn how to make the most of what I had while waiting for what I desired.

Imagine the plight of a young entrepreneur who is also a public speaker in the field of business, motivation and leadership. I was supposed to be speaking on the third day of a new year in the city of Abeokuta, Ogun State Nigeria and that was the first speaking engagement that I was honouring for the year. As soon as I got to the venue of the programme I brought out my laptop from my bag so that I could do a few things before it was my turn to talk. I also wanted to use my laptop to record the speech that I was going to make but as soon as I pressed the power button, the laptop came on and the screen started flickering until it went blank. The laptop was still working but the screen had gone blank so I decided to shut down and restart. This time it did not come up at all so it meant that I was not able to do the real job I needed to do and I could not record my speech for that day.

The implication of not being able to record my speech for that day was that I would not have records and I can’t make some money through the multimedia. I took it to the engineer and it was fixed immediately but as soon as I got home the screen went blank again. This time I had to insist the engineer tells me what he was doing to the laptop. Form that day I removed a screw from the laptop and I had to go about with a screw driver so that I could fix the laptop as soon as it misbehaves. I was constantly opening the keyboard of my laptop in order to be able to work. At times the cursor just goes berserk because you are trying to use it on the left side of the screen and it just goes to the right.

In the middle of all of this I had to cope with the challenges of constant power cut so I went for the small size generator in the house. I had to bring it to the balcony of my room because my office within the house was directly under my room. I needed to buy a four yard wire so that I can use the generator conveniently in my room and in my office which was directly beneath the room.

Fueling the generator was constantly an issue of the mind because for a start, nearly every sale made from my audio CDs went into the purchase of fuel so that I can keep writing proposals, new books, letters to some partners and some of the people I share my vision with.

I could not imagine that I was almost praying for a laptop to keep working so that the laptop would not mess up if I had an important business presentation or proposal to present before the board of a company.

At other times the problem was not the laptop but the generator was supposed to power on the things I needed to use. All this went on frustratingly for some time but it came to pass. It’s not a desirable thing to pray for a laptop to work when you should just pick it up and start doing your job.

You need to know that you can only be relegated when you have accepted relegation on your mind. there is nobody in the world who can push you to the backside of life if you have not given them your personal approval. Let me just ask you how many people you have given the opportunity to relegate you? How many people have you given the opportunity to take undue advantage of you? How many times have you empowered other people by making them feel that they have more power than you do when they do not?

You are the one who keeps relagation yourself to the back side of life because there is no one who can turn you to a slave until you have consented to being that person’s slave.

Now is the time for you to take a stand just like the first balck president in the United States – Barack Obama – has done. Take a stand against the people who want to make you feel they are more powerful and are trying to make you dance to their tune.

Let me remind you or introduce to you that power is a mind thing. Power only exists in the mind. Power is a question of perception. When you think someone is powerful you need to know that the person is only powerful because you empowered the person in your thoughts.

Whoever you call an influential person to you is only infulential because you have identified some personal values that make a person influential as far as youa re concerned.

Relegation is a mindset because it is one of the things you have allowed to set in your mind. You are a part of the masses becasue you think you are poor. You are part of the less privileged because you always think somebody should look down on you and help you. There is nobody who is relegating you. You are the one relegating yourself with you thinking. Once you upgrade your thinking you will no longer be relegated in life. Stop and break the relegating mind set.
