Service before reward.

August 10, 2007

When you intend to start a business, you thought of what service to render. How come you relegated to powerful notion of redering a service to the self-damaging notion of “me first?”

Every succeeding business trives on the service it renders to people. I was in a Public Relations class one day. The lecturer wanted a different perspective to the business so I stood up. I made the class understand that sometimes Public Relations (the image for your business and the way you treat your clients in this context) sometimes can be all about “making people feel good about giving you their money.” That statement blew the mind of the lecturer and he made me repeat it a second and the third time to the class.

The only way to get your reward (profit from business) is to nmake people feel soooooo good about giving you their money through an “EXTRAORDINARILY IMPRESSIVE” SERVICE to the people you call clients or customers. They want dignity while you want their money. Make them feel proud and collect your cash.

Strength of a man

August 4, 2007

THE STRENGHT OF A MAN IS IN HOW BIG THE PICTURE IN HIS HEART IS AND THE ONE WHO TRULY LIVED IS THE ONE THAT HAS SOMETHING TO LEAVE BEHIND

              …FOLA DANIEL ADELESI

It’s not so surprising that in a world that is full of illusion men tend to believe that their strenghts lie in their muscles or physical appearance.  A young man once engaged a mighty man in a battle and the table turned upside down to favour the young man. At the end of the day it was discovered that the man had relied on his big chest and bid arms but those things failed him. The true strenght of real men is in how big the picture in their hearts are because the world you live in tomorrow is the picture you have created in your mind today

What you think

August 4, 2007

WHAT YOU THINK ABOUT YOURSELF IS MORE IMPORTANT THAN WHAT SOMEBODY THINKS ABOUT YOU

                    …FOLA DANIEL ADELESI

I do not remember if I have told you this story before but it does not cost me anything to relate the story again. When I was a student in class 1 during my college days, I was walking down to the dormitory with two of my friends when I saw the Senior Prefect who, then, was in class six. I admired him so much and I coveted is integrity and reputation as a leader. He commanded so much respect and I remember I once sought a chance just to talk to him. I told my friends I was going to be the Senior Prefect of my set but all they did was jeer at me. Six years later, I became the Senior Prefect. I also commanded respect and people were talking about me in places I’ve vever been to. It’s because I had that picture in mind. The college is Mayflower School, Ikenne, Nigeria.

Create a picture of where you want to be. What matters is not what others think so long as you believe it. You will be there.

Knowledge

August 4, 2007

My personal definition of knowledge is that it is your reservoir of pending reactions for every action that life will presentto you.
